RAW Rapid Plenums for Theoben or Raw

Looking at the thread of the reg or fastflow housing (3/8 BSP) into the action block (older Raw and Theoben Rapid) a standard hydraulic extension coupling would fit. This would increase the regulated air volume behind the regulator and would be a cheaper and bigger than a custom pre-chamber I see on some Theobens or the in-line plenum of Raw (think they have the wrong thread now as they are made for the newer models). The hydraulic coupling would be pressure rated around 400 bar for testing so safety would not be a problem. And the cost would be around 5 euro a piece in the Netherlands compared to the 119 dollar of the Raw plenum, plus there is a great assortment of types to play with.

While the looks would suck compared to the pre-chamber it would be the same for the Raw plenum extension (pretty sure it's the same thing any way)

Is there a flaw in my thinking?? Or am I missing something.

Could not find a picture or a attempt on the forums so I was wondering if someone did it before.

I ordered some parts to see if it works and to experiment a bit.

compared to the Theoben Pre-Chamber it would hold a bigger volume I would expect.

Do not know about the exact added volume but your right about that the volume of a dedicated inline plenum would be larger.
But that would be the case when using a 3/8 extender but when using 3/4 or 1" extenders with the proper reducing couplings that would increase.

Just wondering if someone had don it before and what the results would be.

It would certainly work , the issue is the very small volume in these fittings . Not much gain from the 5 or so cc’s af air. There are banjo bolts that have the same thread pitch. One of them in combination with a small manifold would increase the volume to something usable.
Do not understand how you would fit a banjo bolt and manifold, inline with the original regulator?
