Tuning Please recommend a tune for .22 Maverick Sniper

 Hello fellow Maverick owners-

Ideally I would like to shoot my .22 Sniper at PW1 for JSB 18.1 at 900 and if possible shoot JSB knock Out @ PW7 at 950ish

Currently, my new to me Maverick have 13g hammer, with 700mm heavy liner with carbon sleeve. With the 2reg at 70m, PW1 it's a 990fps...not getting any accuracy there.

Which hammer should I get 7g or 11g for the above tune?

If 1 tune is not possible to achieve the above for 18.1 and 25.39, then what is the best tune for most accurate speed for the jsb 18.1g.

Yes, I did watch AEAC 12 tunes, unfortunately it's for .25 cal.

thanks in advance!!!

That hammer is way too heavy for what you are looking for. The 11g hammer I think would suit your needs. I have mine set curently at 120 bar on the 2nd reg and able to shoot a 25.5 grain slug at 950 on PW6. Unsure exactly how slow I can get the 18.1, but pretty sure I had those in the 800s on lowest settings. Set your reg to 115 and internal hammer adjuster all the way in and PW on 7. Start turning the IHS out until the velocity begins to drop, then bump your reg to 120 and I am betting you have a pretty solid tune. If not, then you can start over with same process until you do hit what you want at different reg pressures.

Others will do this process in reverse looking for max power in a tune. For mild tunes my personal opinion is to begin low and work up.

Might make more sense to tune with heavier pellet.
like the .22 mrd

going from 18gr 900fps (32fpe)

to 25gr 950fps (50fpe)

will require significant retuning. Usually u want a lighter slug if you want to dual tune

I wouldn’t suggest going past 890 with 18gr jsb. While it may be accurate in perfect conditions, higher speeds don’t perform well in windy conditions.

I have the Maverick Sniper with the 11gram hammer. I tuned my at 200/150 on the regs, IHS almost all the way out, PW7 shooting the Javelin 30gr slugs at avg 984fps spread of 13 and sd of 4. Next on PW6 shooting the NSA 27.5gr at 985fps and the same for spread and sd. Very accurate at 100yds. On the other end of the scale at PW0 shooting the Crosman 14.3 at avg 992 and sd 23. Very accurate out to 80yds. Shooting the Hades 15.86 on PW1 at 985fps sd 30. What was surprising is the Crosman's Premier HP 14.3gr grouped better than the Hades at the same distance. On PW3 shooting the Monsters RED 25.9gr at 922 with an sd of 10. These grouped real good at 80yds. Put four in a row through the same hole. When I'm shooting at the lower power end I get about 4 magazines on shot count and about half that at the high power end.
