Okay, I have confirmation from both Delta and KLM (twice) I am good to go so i can fly with the Leshiy 2 and the Taipan Vet to Houston Sunday from Amsterdam.
Currently, I have the Leshiy 2 - 177 / 350 mm set for 10.34 grain JSB Heavies to 845 fps at 16ish ft/lbs at an estimated regulator setting of 110 bar. Original setting of 130 bar gave 980 fps at 21/22 ft/lbs for 10.34 gr Heavies. The poly mags were pushing easily past a 1000 fps, thus why I backed it down. I don’t have my pressure test YET
so I am winging it with exact pressure setting using the FX Pocket Chrony.
When I arrive in Idaho I will get the air supply situation setup, and then adjust the pressure to give around 880/900 fps which should give me around 18 ft/lbs. I just think the original setting is too fast for 10.34 grains and the gun seems to like them, plus I read this weight of pellet the L2 is gauged for by Ed.
So plan is, once right pressure setting is achieved to do 25 / 35 / 50 yard groups and I will post the results using the 10.34 gr at 18 ft/lbs / 24 joules. I will post the results in a “Taipan / Leshiy 2 Idaho and Montana Journey”. Also, I will cruise some dairies etc and some desert (jack rabbits and this is Taipan territory). Expect this to start in around 10 days from now.
And I think will be one of the first Leshiy 2s in Idaho so
....need to claim first kill rights
/ like first ski tracks in fresh powder. He who publishes first is first
That’s my story and I am sticking to it.
