Howzit Gang,

As hunters sometimes our best laid plans can change on a whim.... In this case Mother Nature. Throughout the week I’ve been watching pigs hitting the corn. The weather has been Perfect and I was hoping to take one with the Rainstorm. HOWEVER Mother Nature decided to throw a wrench in my plans. A cold front moved over the islands and with it came the wind! Gusts of over 15mph were the norm for day. I was planning to zero the Storm with night vision and set up tonight but the winds made it impossible. The wind kept on swirling! Shifting from one moment to the next. Brahdah wouldn’t have been able to approach them without being detected. SOOOOO Brahdah decided to do the next best thing.... Cook up a dish using wild Boar meat! Special fo da evening, Pork Adobo! ONO OVER HOT RICE! Sadly I have to report dat Brahdah ate to much an da dreaded Hawaiian paralysis is setting in..... Now I can’t seem to move off the lazy boy.... 😱

Cam is still sending me pics and looks like the pigs are having a luau tonight. Story of my life... day late, dolla short. 🤣 Oh well, maybe tomorrow.....

Aloha

Mark

@ Bigragu, YES! I made the Adobo the traditional way except that I threw in some left over onions I had in the ice box. As for the Blood meat, Sadly I find it to rich but I don’t mind it once in awhile over hot rice. Nowadays the only time I find myself eating it is at parties. Sadly as I get older I have to watch my diet. Same with the Adobo. I made a pot but gave most of it away to family and friends

Aloha

Right on! Yeah, the dinuguan is my favorite of all dishes. Second is kari-kari ox tail. I came here from the PI in 1973, and have never been back. I’m a mestizo, with a mix of Greek and German. At 6’3” and 235 lbs., the pinoys here think I’m lying when I tell them I’m pinoy, lol. I got nicknamed BOLO- Ha!!

I like reading your posts, man, especially the ones with the vids. Good shooting!

Ho Brahdah, you is one BIG FILIPINO! 😮 🤣 I have a friend like you who grew up in the plantation camps except he’100% When he went to the Marines for basic they couldn’t believe he was Filipino! 5’8 and built like a line backer. One time we went pig hunting with with dogs... no guns jus knives.... I was suppose to be the camera man on that hunt till he told me to poke da pig when he grabbed it’s hind legs.... I was like dis 😮😮😮 HAHAHA CRAZY Filipino and AWESOME Friend! Definitely want him in your corner if things hit da fan... HAHAHA

Being here we’re exposed to all kinds of foods especially from the old plantation days. I’m Japanese by decent but cook food that my family made when they used to work and live on the plantation. You can imagine the mix of foods they made and shared Filipino, Japanese, Portuguese, Korean, and Hawaiian.... sometimes mixed together! HAHAHA. Anyhowz, I haven’t tried Kari Kari Oxtail soup BUT it sounds ONO! The other week I some Sari Sari..... DA BUGGA HIT DA SPOT!

Bra, Five Finga Silverware! 🤣🤣🤣

BOLO! HAHAHA Friends nicknamed me Bronto an to this day I cannot neva figga out dat one HAHAHA

Aloha Bolo!

Bronto 😂

russinbaja, NICE CATCH! I was wondering if anyone would catch that! HAHAHA. Not older den dirt but slowly gettin there... As a small hana bata (runny nose ) kid I was LUCKY enough to be exposed to a little Plantation life. Played in the rivers catching prawns, cooking sweet potatoes thrown in ashes, and eating Rose Apples that grew along the river banks. Now that I think about it, we were kinda da Hawaiian version of Huck Fin... HAHAHA. One of the few things I regret not having the chance to do was ride the flume... the Plantation used water flumes back in da day to transport sugar cane to the mills. One of the FUN AND DANGEROUS past times of kids PROVIDED you didn’t get caught was to dam the flume and then let it go and “ride” the bundles of cane to the mill. Not to the mill but close to it without getting caught! My Father laid down the law and said IF I ever got caught, there would be HELL to pay.... NEVA chance um but should have! HAHAHA. It was a simpler life an yes, da Milkman dropped off milk bottles and picked up the empties... HAHAHA. Sorry for the long winded yarn... but before I go, a friend left me some old Plantation wisdom that I like to pass on to friends. “Keep moving cause once you stop, Dey going start throwing dirt on you!!” 😮 Dem is wise words! HAHAHA

Aloha
