Pigeons at new farm

@bubblerboy64. yes they are tough birds to drop. The ones I shot, even though they flew off, they ended up dropping near by and expired. Owner has a keen dog that find and fetch them. Definitely hard to drop them birds unless you get them in the head or from the back for the heart/lung shot. My Crown sends the 18gr pellet at 27ft.lb energy. Plenty to drop them but at the same time, potentially damage the roof if I miss my shots. So I have to angle myself or just go for the roof ridge shot if possible. I shot some with my FX Impact with the Redesign 25.4 gr. That pack a huge punch to the pigeons, video to follow. Thanks for watching.

For shots under 70 yards you may want to try the H&N terminator, JSB Hades or the predator. They are way more likely to deliver max energy as they often stay in the bird.

you are likely passing straight through the bird with little expansion.

a good .177 with a soft (jsb) or expanding pellet that stays in the bird, puts them down nicely and is way easier on the roof.

@Hearkens. Thank you for the tip. I have Hades but they are not as accurate in my guns as the AA or H&N. But I agree, the hades would expand more and would be better in this case. Looking back at some of the footages I realized there were a few shots that were not ideal especially with the backdrop. Too excited and eager on my part with this new opportunity. I will have to be more selective and patience with my shots next time out. Thanks for watching.

@backstop. Thank you and yes accuracy dictates the success and failure regardless of which ammo to use.

Actually, I was referring to the most accurate ammo for any particular gun. So far, I have never found any type of hollow point pellet that equals domes for accuracy. Especially at the longer distances. In my case, those longer distances are only about ~40 yards most of the time.

Keep up the good shooting!
