Yeah the shv seems like a good option. I havent handled one personally yet
my nxs is about eight years old. It has been on many guns. The first ten moa you really almost cant feel the clicks anymore. Lolol. But she still tracks true so i havent sent it in.
One of the nxs on norms impact is mine also, off of one of my dads guns.
I own a vortex pst, have owned swfa super snipers. Shot loopy mk4s for a bit.
If i needed another and couldnt afford a nightforce i think i would buy another fixed power super sniper. They are so cheap and work so well. But i would save for as long as it took to go nightforce again probably.
Edited to add: for those that dont want to spend on a nightforce I highly recommend an swfa super sniper. The only downside is fixed power. Clarity is amazing for $300. Turrets track well and hold zero. You can buy two swfa ss for the price of one vortex pst. The vortexs just arent worth double in my opinion, and every one i have handled has an insanely stiff magnification adjustment ring.
Are the nighforces worth 4-6x? I think so, but if you cant make it to an $1800 scope i vote swfa all the way .
Ill also note that i had ordered a custom scope from “us optics”, for insane money shortly after returning from Iraq with some deployment money in my pocket. After six months of excuses and no scope I tried to cancel the order and they refused to refund me until i lost my sh*t and threatened them with all the social media power possible. Finally, they refunded me without an apology anywhere in the entire deal. I highly recommend avoiding them despite their fantastic product. If there is no customer service there is no product in my mind.
