People’s experience with acecare/aliexpress

I have been shopping around for a new air tank. All the new ones I see range from 500-700 depending on the size. While searching I came across some acecare tanks on aliexpress. They come directly from China. I was wondering if people here have used them and their overall impression of them. Basically I’m just wondering if they are safe to use in the long term.

I bought my Acecare 6.8 liter bottle off eBay from a vendor who had a great price (which resulted in lower sales tax) and something like a $70 shipping charge for fast shipment from China. Even with that high shipping charge it still worked out to be a good deal to me. Received it in about 10 days. (The listing was also a couple of bucks more than some other from the same seller, promising a 2020 manufacture date. I paid the extra, and did get a 2020 manufacture date. Maybe check with sellers what the manufacture date is before you purchase. )

I have only had it a few months but so far no issues at all and visually it appears to be well made. But visual appearance can't really speak too much about the actual quality level. But I'm hopeful.

Understand that the Acecare bottles have CE certification NOT DOT. So if you have your own compressor, fine. But it is likely illegal in the U.S. for any dive shop to fill it without the DOT cert.

I bought mine 2 years ago from ebay. It was 250 + 60 shipping from china. I got it in like a 1 week. so i dont know how the heck they ship it so fast. It was brand new and came with valve and double gauges. So it will tell ur bottle pressure and output pressure. Downside is its in mpa, which is same as in bar. You need your own compressor to fill it.

I can say buying from Aliexpress isn't all positive here. For example received cheap BSA 4-14x44 $100 Aliexpress sold for that MidwayUSA sells $299 one had black specs in the glass. Another $10 Donny EMPEROR-LIKE with extension wannabe copy missing a baffle. Around 90% good experience but you take your chances buying cheap to save a lot if cash. Many other scopes are an outright rip off over at Aliexpress now. Careful and know what you are buying because many belong straight in the trash can and shipping them back to China to return isn't worth it..

My experience with Acecare and AlliExpress is positive. If your only source of filling is by a dive shop, then this won't be for you. They do sell DOT certified product but the price advantage diminishes when shipping is added.

I agree with Eaglebeak. I bought a 3 liter tank and valve from Aliexpress made by Acecare. It arrived within 10 days of ordering and it is just as high quality as any other carbon fiber tank. Be aware that all of the Acecare tanks have a M18*1.5 neck thread so they are only compatible with valves made for them. You can't use the U.S. standard 7/8-14 threaded valves with an Acecare tank. There are lots of M18*1.5 threaded valves on Aliexpress.

I had to check these out after reading the post. Those 12L tanks they sell are huge! But the price seems to jump considerable from the 9L to 12L. 6.8L bottles seem very reasonable.

As we say in the South, opinions are like tails on a dog, we all have them. Here’s mine, the tank may be solid and require alternative piping as @Humdinger says, but my experience with AliExpress fits into the 10% category that @O’Dolyle references. They wont get another dime or penny of mine again. If you want more details, PM me. Enough said. I hope YMMV from mine.,

I have bought over a dozen cylinders 9 & 12L from ACECARE, all fantastic quality, but I do fit my own valve.

Been ordering from them for a decade or more, no longer will I ever use them. In the last couple years Aliexpress has gone way downhill, almost a scam company unless you get lucky...

I bought my 6.8L tank with dual gauge valve direct from Acecare. Absolutely no complaints on the quality of their product or customer service. I (think) It was around $211 for the tank and valve combo around a year ago. Shipping time was quick enough but U.S. customs did hold it for a couple days - they wanted a couple of $'s to release it.

Acecare does sell DOT cert tanks now. Slightly more $, but if that's what you need....

I found it on ebay from acecare. After ordering, they contacted me to inform me that it was CE cert and if I wanted a DOT cert tank they would refund my money and the gave me a link to order the DOT tank.

I did get my money back, but have yet to order a tank. Doing more research, exploring more options.

You can find Iorman (gurlleu) carbon fiber DOT tanks with 7/8-14 unf threads on Amazon. They have Acecare DOT tanks too but with the m18-1.5 threads.

Thank you so much much for this! I was looking at buying the tank and possibly a valve from another source. You saved me time and trouble.
