Pellets Vs Slugs in Heavy Wind

Amazing how the slugs don't mind the wind and how they can keep tight groups at 110yds.
If it wasn't so cold out I'd go to the farms today....20 mph wind but I don't feel like freezing again.

Maybe RMAC, EBR and EBR INTERNATIONAL should consider an "Unlimited Class" to include slugs? Hint.Hint.

You make me clear than in SA can´t go over 0.22!, thanks for that, I did not know (but I was thinking about it), since with the impact setting that you are shooting 0.22 cal 26gn slugs, you can shoot much eficient on 0.25 or 0.30 cal
As for the comparative, there is no doubt that slugs having better BC, will perform better in the wind, that is for sure, but comparing 18gn pellet with a 26gn slug? come on! is like compare a Fiat with a F1 ! or a Sparrow with an Eagle ... jaja
A good comparative (IMO of course, meaning I could be wrong) will be a 23gn slug on a 700mm slug liner, with a redesigned 25.4 gn monster on a 700mm pellet liner ,both at same speed (930 fps), considering the pellet has more drag (the extra weight should balance if shooting at the right speed), should be a fair to compare those 2 (if I recall correct you have had try the monsters already but with the slug liner? I don't remember .. ) or even the BEAST pellets (34gn vs the 26gn slug) if you can shoot them at the right speed.
The follow is a general comment, not for you direct: I would like to see also (not from you I do not want you to make illegal stuff! ) comparatives in different calibers, to compare accuracy, efficiency and total cost (On the Impact). I am doing it, but I am a "CERO @ left" with video recording (but posting results in AGN as I found them)

Wht is the BC of these slug can you post say zero at XXX yards and hold over at 100yd ? or M LOU

Good illustration, but I agree with edosan. The test should've been done with the .22 25g redesign pellets (at optimum speed) for a better comparison.

The Monster Redesigned is completely unstable beyond 70 meters. Watch our previous video to see those results. The spiral completely out of control.

I've only shot the Redesigns out of Lothar Walther barrels (with good results at 100y). But I was told that the Redesigns shot well out of the STX slug liners too. I missed your last video, I'll have to check it out.

With what liner? (not sure but you did that test with the slug liner?, or a pellet liner?) you use the optimal liner for the slugs, there is an optimal liner too for the Monster, if I recall correct Claudio Flores won the EBR with those pellets (not on FX tho) and with a lot of wind one day @950 - 970 fps, so they do are good over 70 mt with the correct liner. I have test them myself over 100 meters with good results too with the a liner and shooting @ 930 fps. (not in that wind)
PLEASE! Do not get me wrong, I say it in another post, and I say it again...you make the job DONE! and is what matters at the end, the perfectionist inside me try always see if there is a better way, that´s all!

You get good batches of Monsters and the next tin is horrible. We tried them out of different liners. Sometimes you get a good group, but they are definitely not consistent enough.

Totally Agree! with pellet you need to select (specially lately on JSB) in order to get real test on accuracy. With slugs not so much probably. (another advantage)

The 18gr pellet does very well. No doubt they chose the best of each for their comparison. If I was to do a Pellet vs Slug comp, I'd pick the 18gr pellet and 24gr slug for my setup, as both do great in my Crown.
I also think the 18gr pellet was a good one to compare with as that is probably the most common "heavy" pellet people are using in their 22 caliber rifles.
And it's not as much the weight differential as it is the BC and design of each projectile. Weight being equal, the slug will still outperform the pellet due to shape alone.
Shooting slugs in FX rifles is new ground, everyone knows that. I don't think the video is trying to say anything other than "look how well they perform in high winds". So well in fact that you can only dream of hitting a pigeon at 100 yds with a pellet under those conditions, where you can hit them repeatedly with slugs with confidence.
Having had excellent results with the Crown shooting slugs, I will say that I don't even want to load pellets into it anymore. The only time I would do that is if I need to shoot inside a building, or if I had a high volume situation at close to mid range.
As with anything else in this sport/hobby that can offer performance gains, these videos simply and clearly show the benefits of shooting slugs.
I don't have an Impact X with 700mm slug barrel, but the Crown is no slouch by any stretch. With my videos, all I try to show is how successful you can be with the Slug-X liner if you want to shoot pest birds at long range.
I don't think the Air Hunters are trying to do any different.

@bob_o I agree with most, but not when you are comparing in high winds a 18gn pellet with a 26gn slug, I do think that there is BIG difference. That being said, slugs are better than pellets on high winds, is just physics (drag). Since I do not have pellets (damn market) to test right now I can only shoot words! jajaja. But I will make several compares on those on windy days.
Right now, I would like to see those pellets vs 0.30 cal 44 gn pellet on the same gun just changing the barrel and probe on those winds (or liner if you like). Not changing anything else, just for the exercise. 100% sure that @100m pellet win on accuracy, but if you add the wind, I will like to see what happend with the wind and heavy pellets @ the right speed.
But please!, do not take this as criticism!, my "scientific" mind just wonder about all this, hands down to you and AirHunters ... most people is pure theory and just a few shows actual results, I admire the ones that shows results in real life

You might have to take back that statement on being 100% sure that pellets will win on accuracy.
Matt Dubber just posted a pic on Instagram of a half-inch group he shot at 100 yds in 16mph wind with 30gr slugs, 22 caliber.
I don't think there can be a "fair" comparison between slugs and pellets.....each is in their own league.

This one?...haha I won't take it back since what he did is not what I said (26gn 0.22 Slug vs 44gn pellet same gun, changing only the barrel), but is really great! very small finger nail he must have (since mine is 0.55 inches, is measured in another post and I am probably smaller than Matt) for half moa (sub MOA for sure). Anyway is AWESOME shooting! In that wind..mmm slugs will be the winner in my test if Matt shoots! jaja
Damn I want more slugs to test!!! jaja (even more since I sent to made that bigger plenum)
