Well a quick search I found a guy on eBay selling some. And they have a bar code on the back.
So I’m going to say they are not that old.

If it has a bar code it probably won't be older than 8 a.m., June 26, 1974.

I worked at Kroger in the early/mid 1980's and they still did not have bar code scanners at the register, although I think many (if not most) products already did have the bar coding on the package. Not sure though...

Definitely post-Y2K. No value beyond a container for hardware.

National and Minutemen made in UK are my oldest. Both horrible pellets Ironically, the screw top lid is the BEST I have evr seen. Very coarse threds. Moving the lid from 12 o'clock to 11 o'clock opens. When closed lid is tight. I own 11 tins and use them every day for modern/quality pellets. NEVER a cross thread problem. Why don't all mfg's do this type of tin?

While we are looking at old tins of pellets, I have an old crosman tin:
and when was the last time you went to Sears to buy pellets?

Since Crosman acquired Benjamin in 1991, I'd say it was 1991 or before, otherwise they would have been made in NY.

Great responses, thank you. I really didn't think this pellet tin was of great worth but did think it might be an interesting topic to start. Thanks for the comments and shared photos of interesting truly old tins.
