Thanks for this Tom. I've been paying lots of attention to head sizes, weight, and the quality of the skirts, but not to the relationship between the head and skirt size. This will help weed out the ones with weird sizing between the head and skirt.

Years before pelletgage, I'd run hundreds through the ole Beeman pel sizer. That made all skirt diameters identical prior to roll testing. Roll testing (with identical skirts) really weeds out the oddballs with abnormal head diameter. 

One thing I might add - The nairB Pill Box method. Roll them into a weekly pill organizer and find out which "day" your rifle prefers. The oddballs will be immediately obvious.

Then of course sort by weight and visually inspect every last one. Why do we do these things?! Hahaha. I think you know the answer.

I'm sure my lead content is a little high from time to time. lol
This stuff won't help you shoot better. But, it WILL help your rifle shoot better.

Boys I'm old enough to remember holding pellets in my mouth much like Copenhagen. Been shot a couple times as well? No lead poisoning yet.
Just sayin?
