Pellet shortages... grumbling and complaints within

Silver Lining: I picked up some of those .25 FX hybrids as they were out of Hades & that was all they had at the time. Turns out, they shoot really really well in my Avenger with a 2700 regulator setting & we had multiple 100+ yd kills on sage rats. I wouldn't have bothered with them otherwise but glad I tried them.

Good to hear. I picked up a couple of tins of those but haven’t gotten to try them out yet.

My nine year old grandson is over from Miss to Tx for about a week, and wants to shoot a lot. His dad and I took him down to walmart this afternoon, I found two tins of 500 Crosman .22 hollow points, for $6.97 ea and is dad picked up a few tins of .177 cal so we are fixed for the week. Modest supply on the shelf, we were just looking for plinking ammo, so passed on the fancier model pellets. Prices on these were better than anything I have seen on line, much as I dislike going in walmart.

You also cannot flood the entire consumer population with money while worker production of products/services is at an all time low. Pellets are a very cheap hobby when you can’t get powder burner ammo. Most of the existing airguners also received a couple to a few thousand in found money out of nowhere. People tend to spend that on more frivolous things like ammo rather than savings, bills etc. I know some of mine did and the wife bought an upright freezer with rising prices and extreme shortages.

Many pellet consumers also have more free time on their hands either unemployed or working from home, which leads to increases in pellet consumption. Competitions are increasing in popularity. Winters tend to confine people to home and yard activities. You have to believe a lot of that found its way into increased pellet consumption fueling the shortages. I know I am up considerably this year so far on consumption and we have no vacations planned for the second summer. More found money for pellets and airguns.
