Okay sorry for the delay. Check this out. Kind of hard to tell in a photo but I would say %50 of them have damaged skirts (the last three batches from different sources were the same). I agree I love them compared to Crosman or whatever else you give me, but heck it sucks being out 250 pellets right away.

Maybe I should find a new shipping solution other than UPS (I’m pretty fond of them over USPS the “toss the box that says fragile service).

SHEESH haven't you seen ACE VENTURA PET DETECTIVE opening scene? Yo!

What holds you up on the Premiers?

🔶 BC

Well, the Crosman 14.3gr varieties have a BC of around 0.022 (give or take a couple on the last digit).

That's not so much compared to the JSB domes of 16 and 18gr with over 0.030.

The JSB Express 14.35gr still has between 0.025 and 0.029, depending on which BC source you trust more — and at what velocity you shoot it (below 740fps it's 0.028/0.029 acc. to Bob Sterne's tests).

So, yeah, I like the higher BC, because at longer ranges the winds in my neck of the desert really wreak havoc with my shots (and thus wreak less havoc with the pigeons that are supposed to receive them). 😄

🔶PELLET HARDNESS

Now, in a later post the softness of the lead of the JSB pellets was mentioned — and yes, that is both positive and negative: Positive as the skirt seals better, esp. in lower powered guns. Negative as the get bent and damaged easier.

I have checked all my other pellets and I find only JSB/ Predator (and it's rebranded pellets [AirArms, FX, EDgun, etc.] making pellets this soft: Much harder lead (due to a higher antimony content) is used in H&N, Crosman, Coal, RWS, Skenko, etc.).

🔶 In the end, though, if a gun shoots a Crosman pellet more precise than a JSB, the choice is clear.... 😄

And if I have a hard (non-JSB) pellet and a soft (JSB) pellet tied for most precise pellet — well, I take the hard pellet ➔ less damaged pellets in the tin, and less pellets that I will damage during hunting.... 😄

Maybe those tins were made the day after New Years?? (Hang over day).

Remember the old stories about never buy a car made during the Holiday Season....

Haha yeah. I can just picture this batch rolling down a long tall mountain in Czechoslovakia all the way to a UPS truck.

PS I know it is not called Czechoslovakia anyone but someone needs to remember our Cold War against socialism.
