Pellet packing: Midway USA vs Pyramyd Air

I got both shipments today. Midway was cheaper by about $5 per 500-count tin. I ordered four tins from each company. With Pyramyd, you get the "buy 4, get 1 free" deal, though.
Well... after I ordered from Midway, I saw a post somewhere in this forum about their poor packing practices when it comes to air rifle pellets. And sure enough... Midway did not "disappoint!" They weren't padded AT ALL. Just some paper packing to take up some of the extra space in the box.

I haven't opened the tins yet, to see if there is a preponderance of deformed pellets in the Midway-sourced tins. I'll update the thread later.

Theres lots of forum posts on the wonderful pellet packaging from midway ... Lots

Midway did say awhile back they were going to improve the pellet shipping packaging due to all the complaints on loose tins and tins that pop open and scatter in the box .

I guess adding that paper aling with the tins in yhe box was a big step on that improvement . ..🤨

Ya, pa and air gun depot do nice

They pack well enough to survive shipping on fed-up -X 😉

Yeah... I found those after I placed my order (they were priced $5 less). So, after I learned about Midway's pellet-packing deficiencies, I hedged my bets and ordered four more tins from PA. Now I've got plenty of pellets!

That is such a big improvement over what midway used to do. When I ordered last they sent pellets loose in one of those thin plastic bag mailers - four tins just knocking around in a plastic bag 😂 Obviously they were trash completely.

I managed to get somebody with some responsibility to respond to an email and they apologized and sent some replacements out exactly the same way which arrived in the same condition (after telling me that they normally ship things more carefully). Have not ordered anything from that company since. it looks like at least they figured out you need a box. It's a good start

I've ordered a TON of firearms stuff from Midway over the years. They are a good and trustworthy company. I've never had a problem and always very good service. They ship within 24 hours of any order I've made.

But I guess they are simply not well-versed in the world of air rifle stuff.

I'm glad you had good luck. But they followed up one mistake with another, and then stopped responding when I told them and sent photos that the replacement pellets were shipped the same way and came damaged. This told me all I needed to know about this company.

I hear ya. I won't be ordering pellets from them in the future.... I'd rather not depend on luck when it comes to pellet shipping. Other than that... I've spent thousands and thousands of dollars with Midway for firearms items for many many years. I've never had a problem... ever. Fast shipping. No games with things being listed as "in stock" and not actually being in stock (like some merchants).

In the firearms world, Midway has an excellent reputation. A friend on the gun building forum I own just bought a new Marauder for a smokin' deal from Midway USA. It was a blemish model.... got it for under $500! Here's the blemish: A ding on the receiver in the port.

I paid $760 for my Marauder at Pyramyd (and no complaints). But he got his for a tick under $500!
