Pellet n slugs..storage

I don't shoot much..I'm the kind of guy that used to have 3 or 4 tins of what ever worked in the gun at the time..but covid made us see that is not too bad having a stack of pellets n slugs on storage.. So my question is if the tins are sealed how much time could they be without use..should they be lube..? Or any other preserving method..?..thanks

My friend just pulled these out after DECADES of storage. After rebuilding his Blue Streak (also stored for decades) he put them on paper and shot perfectly fine.

It’s lead without powder. I would think it could be stored indefinitely in a climate controlled or dry environment. The most I’d expect to encounter is some sort of corrosion. Maybe spray with some sort of oil before storing or vacuum sealing as Randall mentioned. I really don’t know more than what others have written about their experiences with pellets in old tins. Just a thought. Edit: Oxidation! That’s what I forgot about. I remember a similar question in this thread. Some members were saying they spray pellets with Lemon Pledge furniture polish. https://www.airgunnation.com/thread...ducing-pellet-oxidation.1159058/#post-1159101
