Pellet damage

One more person with damage to pellet. Just received a shipment of JSB 18gr pellets. Nice thing they where in the 5 pack and it had a sticker with diameter, lot number and not sure but maybe die #? Shipment was packed in a box and sort of protected with some heavy packing paper. Box marked fragile handle with care. You guessed it, dropped at least once. Four out of the five tins with damage. Quick look at the worst tin and I already have 35 bad pellets. I haven’t weight and sorted yet.

Next time I’ll change who I order from.

They didnt drop it. They toss it. I worked as a fedex package handler. Our job is to unload and load packages to trucks for shipping. We have a goal of how many packages per hour. When unload package we grab and toss them to the conveyor belt as quickly as we can. No time to set each package nicely on the belt. It would slow the process. The best thing to keep items undamaged is to package them good and protect them. I dont know where you got yours from, pellets shouldn't be protect with packing papers. They should be surrounded with forms on all sides. I order mines from prymaid air and never had a problem with damage tins.

I just received an order from PA yesterday that really took me by surprise! It was a partial order of some ammo I ordered. There was a small tin of JSB KO's and a small tin of H and N Rabbit Magnum ll.

This is the way they where packed and the lid was off the tin of jsb's when I opened the box and there were just 6 slugs in the tin! What???!!! Not the normal PA shipping I am used to! Not even the right size cut out for tins or any stuffing around anything, just a whole bunch of open space in the middle of the box! When i lifted up the 1 piece of cardboard under the tins I found the rest of the slugs in the bottom of the box. I haven't shot any yet and I won't be able to tell if the slugs are damaged or my Condor SS just doesn't like them. I am not a very happy shooter right now.

Bruce, Call PA and let them know how you received them. I have had nothing but great support from them. I have never had that happen with pellets but I have had other issues which were immediately rectified.

At least you got a box. 10 tins of H&N Baracuda .177's, 5 tins in each bubble mailer, then those stuffed in a third and sent Fedex Smartpost. End result 6 of 10 tins dented and while none seriously, this is the first lousy shipment ever gotten from PA.

Made me flashback to my one and only order from MidwayUSA. In their case, 4 tins loose in just a bubble mailer and way worse damage.

PA shipped my four tins of jsb so well wrapped I Almost felt guilty it was free shipping. Perfect fit foam cutouts way over padded.

Two recent shipments from field supply. One was perfect - each tin in a cardboard cylinder (spent packing tape role) and those well wrapped in padding, all of that in a box. The next was just a padded envelope with four tins Bundled together and survived only by chance.

midway was the worst. Plain thin plastic bag, four loose tins just banging around carelessly.

airguns of Arizona packs well, but shipping is expensive.

wonder what the margin is on a sale of four tins of pellets? How that compares to shipping and packaging for a place Iike pyramid??
