Pear Braised Squirrel

So, I’m in my kitchen cooking and looking over my yard, when I see this brazen squirrel go up my Pear tree and snatch one of my young pears. It ran up my Pecan tree and out of sight, but I was triggered! Took shoes off and stalked it. Sure enough, SOB was right out of previous sight munching on MY pear! 

It paid the ultimate price! Short range shot with a Hades pellet almost vertical shot, off hand, which I suck at & was mad as hell (shaking like a leaf) No matter, got her ass! Damn good shot too! Recovered spent pellet, not as much expansion as noted before, but it did it’s job.

That doesn't happen any more. The summers are hot so instead they remove their clothes and cool off in a brine bath.

Thanks & Sorry-Not Sorry! That’s the fun part. I posted on my 30 the other day & click baited folk into thinking I had a 30 Cal, when in fact I was talking about my 6fpe HW30 LMAO! 

But, if I grow enough pears, I may have a recipe for reals later on in the Summer!

Nice shot. A tip on how to do a fast marinade on game. I use my ultrasonic cleaning tank it’s stainless steel so I just clean it well and fill it with a cut up rabbit or squirrel and my favorite a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. In 30 minutes it penetrates the meat and from there I put it on the grill.

True story, is what got me into airguns. Freaking squirrels dug up my strawberry plants (no fruit yet) and just tossed them in the hot sun to dry and die. It’s been game on ever since (& a few $K too)

Looks like the ground under my apple tree. Couple of bites and throw it down then on to the next one. Spring time I can't leave any seat cushions out. I installed a sprinkler system, got tired of repairing & buying hoses. We have all metal trash cans, they kept chewing through to feed on garbage. Finally got a .25 Impact with Donnie's moderator, set back the power, use 25 grain JSBs. The action is smooth enough for quick shots. But I make sure I have a back stop every time. Bait with sunflower seeds. But I always leave a few for seed for next years crop

Squirrels can be destructive little creatures that’s for sure. I’ve seen campers on friends hunting properties where red squirrels chewed right through the metal siding to get in. The funny part was their fix was to put duct tape over the hole like they couldn’t chew through that I do like eating them though!
