Are pcp shotguns effective on turkey 35yds and closer? And what shotgun would be recommended? Thanks

Do you realize turkey hunting with shot is usually a head/neck-shot proposition? Takes very little energy (per pellet) to penetrate a turkey skull or neck vertebrae, and one pellet that does is enough to drop them. Deformation is not part of this equation.

I should think so. I almost got the Serpent Arms 20 gauge, and most of the other guns and even smaller size. I wanted a larger size so went with a converted Zeus. Considering it’s capable of 1500 ft/lbs using a heavy slug, it definitely can launch 1 oz of lead, about the same as what you would find in a firearm version. Only test I’ve done with mine was a gallon jug of water. Not surprisingly it didn’t survive. The wad itself punched through it

Ever wonder why waterfowl hunters are always trying to get way from steel shot? Doesn't work very well for that reason.
Doesn't work very well on coyotes either at close range head, neck, and chest.
Try killing a squirrel with light clay loads (#6s) that turns them into swiss cheese and they keep running.

No, I've never wondered why waterfowl hunters are always trying to get away from steel shot. And I'm not interested in trying to kill a squirrel with light clay loads. Sounds like you know from experience that steel shot doesn't work very well on yote; however I've never made that mistake.

I read the original post and the scant information on air-shotguns when I was looking to buy.
I also read T shot which is illegal in most states for turkey.
I gave a reason solution to see if pellet are deformed since you can't really chronograph a shotgun.

I've hunted turkeys and I raise them. They are not an easy bird to kill.

I've made my share of mistakes. But with over sixty years of hunting, shooting and airgunning experience my knowledge of internal, external, and most important to this discussion, terminal ballistics allows me to avoid many mistakes in my hunting pursuits.
Why would you assume I haven't made mistakes, just because I've never made the one mentioned in your post?
