PCP newbie questions

To be fair, the sales guy did offer return shipping on them.
Again, I waited a while for these to become available, and don’t want to get back in a queue again,
They are hard to come by. I’m keeping it. 😫 even though I’m not going back to them for anything.
But I agree with Sonny, the 4th one free seems a good deal.
Glad I opted for the four at once, not the fourth with the 2nd order as the sales guy was advising.
It was much more their attitude, as I had left a message with the sales guy the day before and he hadn’t returned my call. Then he actually said: “ it was just not worth it”, (dealing with me, asking him to make good on his word. )

He actually said he remembered saying that (two included), but that he was mistaken, and then came his unbelievable statement as to you can send it back if you don’t like what you received. Sort of blew me away.
But not cutting off nose etc, as I want this setup, and it handles and feels exquisite especially with that 380mm barrel, and my synth stock. The problem is that the barrels have those exposed threads without a can on the end or thread protector. I asked for a thread protector as an alternative, I thought more than reasonable, but he acted as if he had never heard of those, and my suggestion for him to call FX and ask was utterly dismissed. So I did, and FX are sending me a thread protector. Which, according to FX, should have been in the case. It wasn’t.

That said, still waiting on my AOA order for my compressor Oh, and the Red Wolf Safari and the Athlon scope. And can, etc. so trying to learn something while I’m waiting for my air source. They seemed slammed also, and the promise to get the compressor shipped by last Friday was a hollow one from AOA. They haven’t shipped it yet.

bought from them 15 years ago Two springers and had a glitch then as well with them. Ordered TX200 for FT, and Beeman Crow Magnum with two diff Bushnell Elite scopes, the FT one 6x24 50. Pricier than the 4x16 on the Beeman. But AoA made a mistake and charged me for two of the 4x16s instead, charging less than what they should have. Being the nice guy I called them back letting them know, and didn’t even get a $50 off your next order or nothing! Nada, zilch, just a very hasty charge for the difference, about which they had no clue nor were ever going to. I had to explain it to them. Multiple times. Seems like I would have treated the customer in that case differently as well.
Was meaning to nevertheless buy from them the whole kit again, but they dropped FX supposedly at Fred Axelsson of FX demanding they drop,Daystate if he was going to let AoA continue with FX.

The sales guy there said that since they no longer sell, but more importantly service FX, they have had to let two techs go, the ones that were repairing FXguns. So how true is it that Impacts are heavy maintenance and
troublesome? Hell, I’ve got a Swedish name, but I don’t want the Impact if it’s that unreliable. ??

Sounds like you have the means so you can be like me and just buy a spare just in case one breaks so you always have one to use. 2 out of the 4 FX Impacts I have leak and I really don't like to tinker. If it breaks and send it in for warranty buy a new one if you don't want to wait. Thats what I do. I'm in the middle of buying another Impact.

Even that compressor you should buy 2 of them if it's not a Alkin or Bauer. I bought 2 of the FX compressors both at the same time way back when and one was specifically for a spare and they were not very reliable compressors and there was always one constantly being fixed then there was one time both were in for repair and I had to buy a pair of 3500psi Luxfur scuba tanks from a local dive shop in a hurry otherwise I wouldn't be able to shoot since all of my gen1 FX hand pumps were broken too. I had 3 of them all would no longer pump. Still got them and pretty sure all are still broken because I don't own a Lazarus Pit. If I did first thing to go in would be 2 FX Impacts and 3 FX hand pumps and couple FX Revolutions, Benjamin Bulldogs (2 of them lucky my other 2 are fine), pretty much an example of all brands of airguns at least one or 2 of each tossed in except a KRAL which I have only ONE of that's never given any problems to date and my RAWs and Mac1 USFTs too no issues.

Okay I’ve got to say something it should not matter if the company in question is a sponsor for AGN..... As a matter of fact it should be even more important that if that’s the case that they be held accountable for poor service, this is not to say what happened was intended as such

No member should be afraid to name a company for good or bad customer experience

Calling a company out on a forum like this is one way to protect other consumers

in fact we have a dealer manufacture feedback section for that purpose

Hey, YO and Stoti,

He gave you the dealer information in code. He referred to the Egyptian Structure - get it? And they box their pellets really well.

I wouldn't be dealing with these guys again.

Yeah, I got it, I'm sure Yo did too. If that wasn't enough, like Airgun.cal mentioned, there's only one big air gun dealer we know of that sell Meopta! I had a couple bad experiences with them a long time ago and haven't used them since. (my pellets were damaged and took 11-12 days to get to me both times I used them. When I called, I was treated poorly on the phone too) . I just stopped using them. I've got my favorite dealers and give them my business!

Stoti

I only use them for pellets. Believe it or not they always come packed in foam pellet tin holders and there is never a dent on a tin. All pellets are always good, no dented skirts, crushing or squishing of any kind. Maybe I've just been lucky, but have ordered thousands in .177 to .25 in many brands. They have a Buy 3 get 4th free deal too.

Good detective work on the Meopta scopes, you guys. There's always a way to figure out who the culprit is - but man, that was some bad service they gave especially in light of the $$$s spent and on the back of FX. Bad business.

Yo, the one I’ve ordered is the $32xx (sales priced), 220 V “Daystate” ... hope this is the one you are advising. Some of the folks at AOA are still dealing with the aftermath of the large wildfire near SWPhoenix.

don’t know you enough to determine if you are serious, but I’m not keen on buying Two Impact II Xs or whatever the latest flavor is, just to be assured of having one working example.

any thoughts on the Daystate Delta vs. the Impact? I realize the Delta seems brand new, and is made of un-obtanium, but there have also been some previews and pre-release reviews. Off the top, it sure looks like an Impact clone, rather than new original work or ideas.
still the reports on the Impacts are deeply mixed and concerning. ,
