I searched to find if this has already been discussed....couldn't find a definitive answer so thought I'd post some of my unique PCP metal art. Where I worked we had alum, Titanium and other metal plates I could use for back drop stops..

You can almost determine which caliber created each benp. Some negative some positive, still trying to decide if I should enter in the next art show or not.. most likely not.:)

No, Katie was not in the line of fire. But those big punches are from my .50 cal. Airforce Texan. A wicked rifle.

The lady at the transfer station looks at me funny now when we dump the recycle bin out. All of my tins look like this as well.
The guy who works there just smiles and shakes his head a little.
There is nothing like "walking" a soup can down the driveway starting at 50 yards.
My Revere is good for"minute of chicken noodle" at 100 yards. Fun.

I recycle them twice. Shooting tin cans. My personal favorite. And cheap.

This frying pan is hanging up at my 50 yard marker. It's been shot mostly by .177 and .22 cal break barrels. After many hits some of the pellets are starting to punch through.

I found out the hard way, those frying pans don't make for the best backstop. Had a 25 cal go right through one and through the vinyl fence behind it. I now have a wall of 4x4 post with 2x12s in front of that.

My wife gave me an old cast iron skillit that I have hanging next to the above mentioned frying pan. The funny thing is the pellets don't dent it at all. They only leave impact marks that I cover up with spray paint.

That's a good idea. My only comment is that I would have shot at the other side instead of the bottom for some reason. :)

Funny thing about metal back stops, the pellets impact makes a lot more noise than the actual gun. I put a sheet of thick black rubber in front to reduce noise. Targets stapled to it but not very well.
