PCP Filter- cotton

Looking at getting a after compressor filter and see many use a cotton "plug" to catch the oil. Who sells these at a reasonable price? I have seen as high as $25 for one.



Also, best source for silica gel beads that can be re-used?

I'd be more interested in verifying that no "water" got into my gun. Most compressores will go a long way before starting to leak oil past the piston rings.

Spending money on a "good", or quality filter, will go a long way in keeping your guns clean and dry. A good filter will also catch most oil if that bothers you. This filter NEEDS to go on the "pressure" side of the system.

#1- not on big budget...< $100

#2- Plan to load filter with small cotton "pad" to get any oil.

#3- Rest of filter full of desiccant with another small cotton to \keep any powder or what ever from going any further.

Add a better filter if needed to be sure more moisture and any oil smell is removed from the system. Many of us use this Tuxing three media filter although, if you feel the need, you can change media types at any time.

Possibly a filter similar to this if humidity is high in your area and your desiccant filters have to be replaced often.

Most concerned about moisture. I live 100yr from salt water marsh and 15 miles from ocean.

Thought about buying the filter cheap and loading it with Silica with a cotton filter at each end for particulate. ??



I like the price of the smaller one. Would pull out the carbon and replace with silica...
