Pard DS35RF...anyone bit the bullet yet?

I just went out to check NV. Took a little bit for me to figure out how to get it going, but once I did, it lit up the field below my house like crazy. Really good. I've still not looked at any directions on it and I wont be trying to record with it, I dont think. As you mentioned, need to test on a rifle. Got some No Limit mounts coming tomorrow so can better check it then!
I took a picture of an orange paper at 25 yards in the dark with the IR, shaking somewhat so not the best way but you can see the clips I used to hold the target. Tried the scope with only NV and it actually wasn't too bad, Installed the app, it's be super nice if you could set up the scope with the app, it should be pretty easy to do. Seeing as I've the memory of a sieve this will be interesting.

You dogs!!! Each and every one of you!!
I never go into the optics forum, never. This is the first thread and now I am thinking, “ hmmm the hay fields at the ranch are over run with badgers. Pard DS35RF and a new Maverick VP 30 cal? Perfect solution!”
Back into the gun fund if I cannot shake this.
Curse you all😂

That's the point!! If we are going to spend money, then the best way to feel better about it is to get others to spend their money, too! 😈

Misery needing a little company?
Always... haha. But I will say that it was nice to have another member who was getting in the same Pard on the same day. Could 'feel' the shared excitement.
I'm not a NV connoisseur. I had an ATN and the NV008 so my take on the DS35 is to be taken with less a grain of salt than normal... but so far, I'm really happy with it. I know I wont use it to its potential. I have no aspirations of recording or anything. I just wanted an easy to use and clear rangefinding scope that I can use for the very occasional night pest removal. Main key was easy to use and so far, that seems to be the case.

I've spent more time putzing with this, hoping to find the magic combination as outlined in the manual. i've gotten the WiFi to work but the app has a small glitch, not wanting to connect but it could be my iPhone. Today's pro tip, DO NOT TURN ON THE IR in a room, you will go blind. The range finding on mine is nicely just off the center about 10 to 11 o-clock, not enough to obstruct but not so much you have to make large moves either. Got the gyro calibrated, I'm not sure this thing has a built in level but it would be sweet if it did, it gives you direction and inclination/declination, no reason it can't do roatI've got to look. Planning on putting it on my Maverick .25 VP but still considering getting another gun, only problem is no place to put it, I'd actually have to clean up something, oh the decisions. Well that and which gun to get. I'm trying to get another permission, not going so well right now, that may require a less powerful gun and shorter ranges than I'm currently at.

Is your illumination 850 or 940?

You're well ahead of me. I'm hoping to dick around with it this weekend and get it set up proper!

One of the benefits of being self-employed and semi-retired and having a REALLY short commute out to my shop.
I telework so I'm about 10 steps away from my gun room... but that's both a blessing and a curse. Especially on a day like today where it's 72 and sunny out and I have to sit in front of a computer screen!

Y’all already know how the forums affect you. Who hasn’t noticed that the more they visit, the more they tend to buy things related to the hobby? I appreciate that members’ reviews and experiences help me to determine some of what I’d like to try.
It's true. Maybe we should lobby to have active members get discounts on airguns/accessories for spreading the word...hahaha

@Rob_in_NC Makes sense to me. And to perhaps see who is willing to be put on a list to beta test new products.

I’ve added this thread to the “All Things Pard” thread.

Thanks! I read 850 provides better image quality but there is a red glow. If 940 works, it's more stealthy.
@chip78 I’m not sure but I think I recall reading that the 940 does not have the red glow, but the trade off is a shorter range of coverage. I don’t recall the image quality being any better using one or the other.

Range is essentially the same just no red glow, according to my extensive 5 minutes of research. I have yet to get out of my back yard, but I've got just the place for when I get to that point.

Ok, I'm officially in love with this thing, I was wondering if it had rotational readout and YES IT DOES. Put on the supplied mounts, not too bad, one screw hole was less than ideal but, I could take a metric tap and clean it up. Inside of the rings have 'tape' not quite sure what it is but it doesn't look like the normal electrical tap. Ok, now I have to get back to work to pay for a gun....oh I hope the Mrs. doesn't read this.

Update, I figured out what the liner is in the scope mounts, it's a sticky back nylon/polyester fabric. NICE touch.
