Panthera 700 shot sounds

New panthera 700
Javelin 34gr gen 2
145 bar, 3.0, 13
Have 200 rounds through it.
When firing, the report/gun sound is not consistent.
Most shots have a metal ping sound to them. Other times the ping is very quiet and sounds "corked" or muffled a little. It does not affect fps but does seem to affect accuracy to a degree.

Is this a symptom of light hammer strike or other?

Saw your other post. Sounds like you have it set close to the speed peak for that pressure. That means that if your reg is not fully refreshed, some shots will be at peak and therefore noisier. The reg takes a while to settle in. You could run it a couple bar higher but the trade off is that the ES gets larger as you go down the curve.

Thanks for the feedback.
I believe it is
What is the chronograph reading telling you? Is your gun is producing consistent numbers? Are you letting the reg recover between shots?
I believe it is recovering between shots. Ill pay attention later today to confirm.

I will play with that and report back.

I have found in mine that if I fire to quickly the shots will vary a bit, but if smooth and consistent things are better. The other thing to consider is that being as you have a new rifle, is that the regulator is still fresh. You will either need to remove the stack and polish the edges or you can shoot say 1500 rounds or so and wait for the regulator to settle down.

I have more 10 tins of pellets/slugs through my Panthera at this point, and it has been shooting better than ever. Just let the regulator settle down and it will improve.

The one thing to check as well would be the end stabilizer disk to make sure that is threaded in. I did find that if I removed this from the shroud things improved on my rifle. You can try and just removing the shroud portion and shoot and see what happens. You could be getting a slight clipping from the very front. If you do find that you can remove the front bushing and remove the threaded portion that you would thread a suppressor on. Or you can try and stabilize the end of the barrel better to see what happens.

Ok yes 3.0 puts it in the peak barely.
Same reg pressure 145bar
3.5=999
3.0=994
2.9=990
2.5=900
Clicked it down a few clicks and at about 2.85 at 985 and groups improved. Ran out of time. Will report back after more lowering to 2.8, 2.75

I was firing too fast for the reg to get fully full. Made about 5 fps difference on chrono. Pulling the trigger about 3bar under full reg.

The disk at front seems properly installed and not interfering.

Still makes the funny sound 1 out of 10 shots.
