Paintball cylinder as buddy bottle

Paintball tanks are only 800 to 1000 psi. Just cause they are fill to 3000 and 4500 psi doesn't mean you can use them in your pcp. I tried and only fill to like 800 psi with my ninja paintball tank. Instead of messing with the tanks reg, why not just buy a actually tank that can be use for pcp. They do sell those small bottles, same size as a paintball tank.

This is an old paintball tank I use to tether with. It is 4500 psi with the ninja 4500 psi reg for PCP rifle filling. It works great. The tank is a 90 ci 4500 psi tank as it is printed on the tank. I removed the paintball gun regulator and installed the ninja pcp regulator

So this is the skinny on paintball for the last 20 years! The carbon bottles have been filling from 3k-5k depending on rating just like our stuff. They have been running dual regs for over 20 years, they have been running solenoid triggers for 20 years! The paintball teams never use co2@7-800 psi, it was always nitro or compressed air.

If you remove the bottle reg or the reg guts, with the property rated fittings! They work great for the backpack or tethering! I have several for this purpose! 👍🏻 Beegee11, you got this! And they have the fill nipple on the side to fill from your scba tanks or compressor, very nice!

If you want full tank pressure from your small aluminum paint tank, you can shim the reg spring until the reg fails to shut the flow off, or even simply file a slot across the polymer shutoff valve face so it can seal. I often use the small carbon fiber paintball guppy tank to top up my unregulated FT rifle at matches ... my 20fpe class gun only needs a 1400psi fill, and I generally top up after around 50 shots, using around 5 psi per shot on average. I have topped my gun with A 68 cubic inch paint tank over a half dozen times with no issue over a long weekend.

I have a typical D.I.N valve and fill whip on mine. I also carry it In my car to top up a low tire if needed.
