I have some older boxes of pellets that were opened and used from time to time. A couple of boxes have oxidized and have a whitish coating on them. Are they safe to use? Can they be cleaned and restored?
I have some Beeman silver jet, and some H&N wadcutters from the early to mid 80's oxidized, I sprayed with some silicone, shook them around to spread the silicone, and started shooting them. No problems, Accuracy out of my FWB 124 is fine.
If the picture by pdx Frank is "oxidated" pellets he's has also not mentioned those pellets in the picture are obviously deformed for whatever reason (banging the tin of pellets like a paint shaker machine?).
Shoot them and learn things about the rifle you shoot them in with new ones as well and the difference will be invisible.
