After years of accidentally leaving my chronograph on, and [consequently] having to buy 9v batteries like chewing gum, I finally decided to improve my life with a 10 second Google search. I found this; an AC Adapter to replace DC 9V batteries. Many of you may already have such a thing, or have known about it. But, I guarantee there are several other guys reading this right now have an "aha" moment. :)

And, for anyone interested, here are some more details re: the setup.
So, now I just leave the chronograph station permanently on. Testing guns is so easy that I am looking for excuses to plug a few into the trap every day. :)

I just ordered the light and will pick up the rubber mulch tomorrow. I will be making adjustments on several rifles, this'll be GREAT! Doing Chrony test in the evening. What a concept! LOL. Can't tell you how many times in the last few months where I had to stop because of poor sun light. We are supposed to have 300 sunny days a year but have had a 10 year record rainfall and have just come out of our "monsoon" season (overcast every afternoon for 2 months).

While I have the ProChrono also, I was contemplating an LED light kit for it but they are expensive. I got an email blast from Midway and a Caldwell kit is on sale for $99. The entire kit consists of:

I built a power supply for my very old, never used Mod. "F-1 Crony about a month ago. Still have not used it. I see that the newer versions of the Crony use LED lights. I don't know if the LED lights would work with my early mod. Crony. Anyone know if they would? What are the LED light bulbs specifications? I have a few other brainstorms to try. I figure after having this Crony for 30, or 40 years, and never using it, it's about time to set it up right, and use it.

I built a 9 V power supply for mu old crony, and it lights up the control display just fine. I now want to find a couple of LED lights of the right size or rating. I notice that they are red in color in your picture. Is there a reason for the color? The new type light shades that contain the lights looks to be a better set up than the old flat shades, and I have some plans for that also. The main thing concerning me now is whether to go to the LED lights, and finding the right rated ones, or, to stay with the older incandescent light bulbs. Any ideas on my DIY project? I've got to get this old Crony in use. Thanks.
