I am guessing the answer to this question would be 6 of one vs half a dozen of the other. My recently acquired Dream pup standard tube .25 is apparently a bit of a hot rod putting out 25.4 AA or JSB at 980 fps at any hammer setting past 15 on the new style 1 to 23 hammer wheel. I get the fact that air is just wasted on any setting past 15. Reg pressure is at factory setting of something like 140. My perhaps stupid question is to get to a predetermined velocity of say 920 fps would it preferable to set the restrictor to high with a hammer setting of 10 or restrictor set to medium with a higher hammer setting or should I be thinking about dropping the reg pressure or for that matter is the 980 fps where I want to be As I have read these barrels like speed. Hows that for overthinking. Thanks in advance for any advise.
