I was recently offered this beautiful, extremely well preserved piece for a price that I couldn't refuse. Far less than what I've ever seen them go for throughout the years! And to top it off the previous owner had it professionally overhauled by someone very experienced with these rifles so "it's ready for a ton of shooting". That sounds mighty fine to me. I'm no collector; this will get shot.
The rifle is 100% as described and it was a drama-free, pleasant transaction. Love it when that happens.
Here are some pics of my new to me Feinwerkbau Model 300S Running Boar
:
It's been several years since I've owned a FWB recoilless rifle, and two things immediately came to mind after shooting a few pellets:
1) How RIDICULOUSLY light the cocking effort was.
2) An absence of vibrations/"humm" from the powerplant. My old FWB 300 had both, as so my FWB springer pistols (all professionally overhauled). Apparently this is a tight one.
I have some old Tasco/Bushnell 4-12X40 (gloss, made in Japan) and Beeman 66R 2-7X32 scopes, but would like to hear from others re: what scopes you're using. Pics would be welcome!
Thanks,
J
