Good afternoon, I’m new to airguns so please forgive my ignorance. The other day I over filled my Benjamin bulldog 357. It missed up the pressure gauge. What else should I check for damage. The gun holds pressure but doesn’t seem to send the slug down range as hard plus there is no air sound that I can hear leaving the muzzle. I’m shooting a 145 grain Nosler

If your gun is filled above the recommended pressure your first few shots should be a bit anemic as the hammer will not have enough energy to fully open the valve. After a few shots the pressure will lower and everything should return to normal except for your gauge. I doubt your gun will suffer any lasting damage from the incident.

^^ What he said. These PC's have protections, a seal or burst valve will go before the cylinder blows. Just keep shooting until you see the change, try to do that immediately.

In Texas it is required to have 215FPE minimum 30cal. If your bulldog is stock it does not meet the Texas requirment for hunting deer here in Texas.
For an overfilled bulldog, do not shoot it out. it can damage the valve. you are better off opening the air drain screw in front of the fill port on the bottom side of your bulldog.only a 1/4 turn open is needed (do not remove it completely). Drain the air down to the specified pressure and just close it back up.
For tuned bulldogs we use 165g to 185g for deer and hog here. But these should not be fired from stock gun. I would not shoot anything bigger than the nosler and even that is pushing a stock bulldog for ethical kill.
