Ordered a new Springer today.

Since my venture into springers this past Jan I have over 7000 shots out of my TX200. It was originally tuned at 806fps. The spring went bad, I had John Thomas from Pa retune it to 704fps. It shoots easier now. Not really more accurate but easier to get there. So I have been curious how a .22 would do compared to the 177 and how a HK97 would compare. Today I ordered one from Pyramyd Air. It will go straight to John for tuning. It's going to be interesting.

I was a .177 diehard for over 3 decades. Wouldn’t consider anything else. Finally started playing with 22 caliber over a decade ago. That’s about all I shoot anymore. 97,98,95,35. All 22 caliber. I still like my 177’s, 30,55 but just don’t find myself shooting them as much. I think you’ll really enjoy your 97 in 22 caliber. Please keep us informed.

My HW95L .22 average is about 17 FPE, (722 FPS), and is a joy to shoot. My wife also enjoys plinking from our back deck and she can usually keep decent groups. The rifle seems to shoot the H&N FTT 14.66 gr pellets best.
Thats the pellet my tuner, John Thomas from Pa. recommened. The TX .177 likes the AA 8.44 Field Diablo in .451.
