Orcair digital airgun gauge on a compressor?

I would like to have an accurate gauge on my 60 minute Scott SCBA tank and my Yong Heng compressor. I look at those gauges when filling my guns and ignore the gauge on the gun other than for getting an idea when I am getting close to needing a fill.

Is the gauge connection hole a 1/8" BSPP on the Yong Heng compressor? The threads on my tank fill station for the gauge are the same as on the Yong Heng. I am assuming that as long as I can get a good air seal, this should work on the compressor and my tank, correct? Is there a more accurate gauge out there for the same amount or less money that I should consider? It doesn't have to be small since it is on the compressor / SCBA tank.

I just checked all three of my large analog tank / compressor gauges, hooked up to the same pressure vessel. There is over 300 PSI difference between the highest and the lowest of the three at 4300 PSI.

This digital one is supposed to be within 1%, but I am guessing it might be +/- 1%, which is actually a 2 percent range. Still way better than the almost 7% error between my 3 gauges.

It sure is fun to keep track of all the thread sizes on PCP stuff!

I think I figured out the threads on the Yong Heng gauge today by testing it on some recently purchased stainless steel 1/8 NPT QC fittings that I removed from a spare whip. It threads on smoothly and goes all the way in until the end butts against the PTFE washer and creates a tight seal, just like on the compressor. To fit this digital gauge to the YH or my SCBA tank, it looks like I will need a 1/8 NPT Male to 1/8 BSPP Female adapter. So far I have not been able to find one. Plenty of them made in brass, but they are rated at only 1200 PSI, found some in stainless but they were rated at 3700 PSI.

This part will allow me to install the gauge on the Yong Heng using a male to male high pressure 1/8 NPT between this part and the compressor - so far unable to find a high pressure fitting to do that. It will also get the gauge up higher where I can see it better. Still would prefer a one piece adapter though.

If someone can provide a link for a ONE PIECE stainless steel 1/8 BSPP Female to 1/8 NPT Male adapter that is rated for at least 4500 PSI working pressure, prefer 6000 psi, please share it.

Unfortunately, I don't have any known to be M10x1 or M12.1.25 fittings to compare it to, but I did try threading the gauge into an unknown (probably metric) thread spec female QC fitting that matches the male threads on the quick connect fitting that comes with an FX M3 - no go. The threads on that FX M3 supplied fitting don't fit any of the more than a dozen QC fittings and hoses I have on hand other than the short whip that comes on the fill station shipped with an Uragan 2 and the fill probe that comes with a Hatsan Blitz.

Thanks for the links. I had looked at those previously but they are rated at 3700 PSI max. I fill my SCBA tank to 4400 psi. My guess is the weakest spot is the male threaded end because the hole is too large for higher pressures. I do have a one way valve directly after the compressor, so a rupture wouldn't be a big deal, more like opening the bleed valve all the way quickly, but best to be avoided. They certainly would be stronger than the same thing in brass.

If I end up getting this gauge to use on my compressor, am going to go with this 6000 psi max fitting. I already have a 6000 psi 1/8 NPT male to male fitting so I will only need this plus the gauge.

Unfortunately, after reading some customer comments, there is no way to keep the gauge on continuously, so it might not be the best solution to have it permanently installed on my compressor. It only stays on for 30 seconds so I would have to keep tapping the on button repeatedly to track the pressure when filling guns and tanks. I might just install it on one gun and use that to check the accuracy of my tank gauges and select the most accurate one for the Yong Heng.

Maybe the new Sekhmet model would be a better option. $49 shipped. It stays on for 10 minutes.
