FWIW I'm going with an Immersive 5x24 and using a 5-slot spring loaded picatinny converter. Scope should be here in about a week or so. I'll post some thoughts after I get it all set up.

I've had the chance to play around with the 5x30 Immersive recently & if I keep my P-rod I am certain either a 5x24 or 5x30 Immersive will be on it.
If I do I will probably order it without the MOA mount & instead use one wide or multi strap dovetail ring to get it as low as possible.
However, I'll only be shooting rabbits with it at slightly closer ranges so I don't have the same magnification concerns as you do.
