Opinions on new Superior liner.

I just received a new .25 cal 380mm superior liner. Before installing I gave it a good visual inspection. I noticed some light scratches in the last 1/8” of the barrel right up to the crown. 
I’m not sure how FX crowns their liners but the scratches look like they are using a “piloted” tool. Maybe the pilot was dirty? Interestingly the breech end has a similar chamfer but none of the scratches.

I emailed the vendor and they are more than happy to refund or replace. So no worries there. I’d love to see how it shoots but I think I’ll just get a replacement.

Yeah, kinda looks like SPA did the crown on that barrel. Send her back.

If they don't polish out, have it replaced. Otherwise, I've found the QC and consistency of quality to be a step up from prior generations (I haven't had a lemon FX Superior liner yet).

I would just shoot it first and see how it does. Those scratches look pretty superficial. I got this ugly thing when I ordered my SK-19. I was amazed that it still shot OK. Probly wasn't worth what I had to go through to get a better one that shot pretty much the same or maybe very slightly better.

The superior has been the most consistent of them all for me so far, pellets and slugs, the heavys, not so much? With the exception of the 30 cal(slugs only).the 22 and 25’s do really well in 600 and 700mm. Versatile, would be a good description.

I decided to sent it back.

In my endless quest for accuracy I know I would always be wondering if those scratches messed up a group or maybe caused a flyer.

I was really looking forward to breaking it in the weekend but I’ll just have to wait a little longer.

As well as my current pellet liner shoots I kind feel like I’m spending $110 to try and prove FX wrong, that it can’t get any better.

Can’t wait to do some extensive testing.
