Hey guys would there be any demand for different colored LDC's? I have been asked many times for anodized finishes, I do not have the access to anyone who anodizes, but I see there are some powder coat finishes that look similar to an anodized finish in various colors like Red, Blue, Purple, would there be any demand for them with colored finishes? I am assuming the only people who might be interested would be people with the colored FT guns, let me know your thoughts on this, Neil.

I've played Paintball a long time now and have always loved bright colors or color schemes that catch the eye.
Both are custom Anodizing jobs.I would love a bright splash anno on a silencer just so it doesn't look soo firearm like.

Typically I prefer the LDC to look as "integrated" as possible. I think the less attention drawn to the LDC, the better. However, if I had a totally tricked out target rifle I wouldn't mind a tricked out LDC as well.

I agree with you Michael, that is why I thought it might only appeal to the FT guys with some of the colored air guns. In general I like to keep them as inconspicuous as possible, especially for hunters out in the field, we don't want to draw to much attention to ourselves. Maybe it was not a good idea, but I thought it might appeal to FT shooters, thanks for the responses, Neil.

Hunting rifles no and for target shooters and shooting competitions whatever floats your boat. I would think Neil most of your customers are hunters and don't want to be heard or stand out while hunting. Bill

Bill I figured that, but I like to try and cater for ALL air gunners and not just hunters , It might be a bit costly to stock a lot of colors to make just a couple of colored LDC's though, so it might not be a great idea on my end, maybe the best thing to do is offer them in a bare aluminum finish so they can be colored by the customer. I was thinking of an orange tip like what is used on airsoft guns. At least for plinking in the backyard it may be a bit more "palatable" for ones neighbours!

I do not own any of your LDCs. But, I do have an observation. To me, it seems that everyone wants to go to carbon fiber, or some sort of camo pattern. Please explain to me (like I am a 7 year old), what is wrong with plain old blueing?

Alan you can not blue aluminum, the best protection for aluminum is powder coat. I make a fair number of LDC's in carbon fiber, but most people when given the option choose to have the black powder coat. Neil.

I have one of your LDC on my 25 Cricket. Makes it a little long for a bull pup, But I never take it off unless I travel or cleaning the barrel.

Mike that is the problem with a Bullpup, if they are not quiet enough for you in the stock form the only option is to make them longer, which really defeats the object of buying a Bull Pup. I also like the looks of real carbon fiber, but I understand the need for hunters to have something less noticeable on their gun, all the best, Neil.

Dan I am sorry but what you are asking is just not feasible, there are way too many different finished and shade differences on guns for me to offer to match them. I am not sure you understand how hard it would be to offer to match finishes to every gun out there? I am not trying to increase my customer base, I have more customers than I can handle as it is, I am just trying to make sure I can offer to the customers I do have, the best options I can give them, thanks for the input though, Neil.

I was throwing out coating the gun with the same coating used on the LDC as an idea only, not asking for the service. I have no experience in powder coating and limited experience with paints and epoxy. Like I said, "just some random thoughts" or ideas for your business. I did not intend them to be requests, more of a brain storming exercise that might produce something you could use to expand your operation.

Neil, while bluing isn't possible, aluminum can be anodized, and it can be dyed. Nice this about dying, any color in the rainbow is possible.

Alan I am fully aware aluminum can be anodized but when you live in an area like I do it would mean a 100 mile drive at least, to find someone who does it. I have invested a lot of money in powder coating equipment so I am not about to invest more in anodizing equipment. My units are made and finished in such a way that they could not be anodized anyway, they are bonded together before the outside is finished so finishing is the last thing done to them. I am not going to get into any other specialized finishes, the question was not what other finishes could I use, it was would there be any demand for other colors. Thanks for the input but try and stay on track, Neil.

Although, yes, an LDC adds length to a Bullpup, it will still be a much more compact package than a conventional rifle configuration of the same power level with the same effective LDC added. Much more compact in the Bullpup configuration. With that said, I totally know why folks want to add an LDC to a loudish Bullpup. Yes, incognito is a good option but I do love the quality and appearance of real carbon fiber. I can also see the appeal of a flashy competition gun, especially a top dog that is putting the whoop on the competition. That flash could be added with some custom engraving and or color.

Black powder coated or CF LDC are accepted norms. The difficulty would be matching the colours. If you can colour match with ease, using a colour code customer provides, then why not.
