Hatsan Opinions on buying a cheap Hatsan springer and modifying it vs buying higher end Hatsan.

I no longer do RC or control line but from childhood until now, I prefer to build my own. But, all of the old time kit makers are gone, Goldberg, Midwest, Sig, Great Planes and not only that but plans building from old RCM plans is difficult because all of the components and balsa are NLA. Is RC dead? Supplanted by air guns!
There's still some kits. Tekno being the best atm. But after kit and components youre looking easily at being $1000+.

Oh, you are talking cars, I meant airplanes. As a child I built little Sig control line kits, they cost a few dollars which back then a couple of dollars was a lot of money but I could save my allowances and birthday money and my grandparents always gave me some money and I spent many a summer afternoon going around and around with a little Cox .049 engine, which also is NLA. We have lost so much and gotten so little in return. I also built hand launch glider thatuse a fuse to dethermal. The fuse was a cotton string soaked in potassium nitrate from my chemistry set (that had actual chemicals), another thing that is gone where the good things go) and the fuse would burn up to a hook on the stabilizer and pop the dental rubber band and allow the glider to flutter back to earth, usually landing in the top of the tallest pine tree  .

You should see the 100+ mph drones they have now. Speed races are insane.

I like less expensive guns and modding them. But with a break open springer, one of the areas that is $ expenditure is directly proportional to performance is the lock up. And that is an area that is hard to improve. Anything is possible I guess.
More undercover would be nice but they always seem to have similar issues. And they just discontinued the diana 460 which I really wanted. Doesnt seem to be any underlevers with that power that I can find.
