The 97K don't need a spring compressor either.

One thing they fail to mention in that video is that it's a European sub 12 fpe gun and not FAC gun we see here in states! It still can be done without the spring compressor but not as easily as that video shows and will hurt you if your not careful. The spring on a 14 to 15fpe gun has about 2 inches of preload on the spring...

And my vote is for the 97k!

I've owned both and sold the TX. It's a great rifle but just didn't fit me right.

My 97 in .20 cal is my all time favorite springer ! Mine has buttoned compression tube and piston with a cupped hornet seal and JM hornet spring kit. Shooting just under 15fpe and a very smooth shot cycle. Shoots sparrows at 50yds all day long !
