Thank you. Scopes are very person specific it seems and there are so many choices for turrets, glass and let’s not forget reticles. I’ve almost purchased some of the scope deals that Odoyle recommended and he is a wealth of knowledge, but I just can’t get past some of the reticle designs.

Thinnest plane of focus-?
Not 100% sure what you mean.
If it's the thinnest reticles you are inquiring about it has to be the 6-24x50 Athlon MidasTAC FFP at low magnification and any Sightron S TAC FFP (and followed by their SFP) and USO TS12X and its much cheaper brother Vector Veyron 3-12x.

I'm always looking for a scope very very thin depth of field / shallow focus. I use the PA for range finding, and when a scope has a very thin plane of focus from front to back, it makes range-finding using a sidewheel more accurate.

OH That's gotta be the less than half price MidwayUSA Crimson Trace 5 series you describe right there.
Even the $209 Alpha6 is like that but the 4.5-27x50 does not have a 16x it goes from 13x then to 17x if that matters so the 2.5-15x50 version is more than likely what you want.
Looking for a FT specific scope there's a $900 SIGHTRON SIII 10-50x60 FT version #25011 (HECTOR MEDINA INFLUENCED ONE) on another forum classifieds that has yellow background from a trusted seller I personally have dealt with b4 many many many times. Cones with genuine Sightron big side wheel
I haven't seen THIS ONE for sale in the Sightron SIII factory authorized half price clearance purge that they ran 2x last year.
