I was exhausted from yesterday’s work on my beaver permission and last night’s set. But I wanted to get at it since the season opened once again. Didn’t dress for the occasion and it’s tough for me to stalk in cowboy boots, but I got out there and came back with one and one didn’t drop out of the tree.
Shot with a Brocock Bantam Sniper HR shooting JSB King Heavy MKII 33.95 grain diabolo pellets. The rifle is topped with a Bushnell Engage 4-16x44 IR FFP. I don’t know how far it was. I’d estimate it was around 15-20 and at steep angle. I used my Trigger Stick bipod as an improvised shooting rest. In through the top of the head and out through the shoulder. She wouldn’t stop barking so I left another area, crossed a clearing, and I stalked up close enough to find her in my binoculars. From there it was pretty routine.
Entry wound
Exit
