Only 2 refills from a 30 cu ft 4500 psi tank?

Am I doing this right?

Leshiy 2 standard bottle cc is 192. The max pressure of the L2 is 300 bars which is 4351 PSI. Refill at 200 bars which is 2900 PSI. (Although, it seams it can shoot at 150 bars just fine, others on YouTube refill at 200. I am not sure. I am new to this. This gives me 30-35 shots at standard factory setting with the 0.22 350mm barrel.) Tank is 30 cu feet 4500 psi by the way.

I plug all this into the calculator here:

I get only 2 refills. With an 80 cu ft tank I get 5.5 refills. Ugh... is this right or am I doing something wrong? I have a small portable compressor that I can run from a car battery. It is a pain to do that too since I have a large heavy duty pickup which sits really high. But the compressor refills the L2 in <5 mins from 200 to 300 bars. Is there a point to buy a 30 cu ft tank for $300? And that is actually a cheap one. A nice one is more like $600. Not to mention they take up more garage space and are heavy to drag around. Especially the 80 cu ft.

An option is a portable compressor. Advice, checkout yong heng / tuxing models, they are all mostly similar. Some more bells and whistles. $300 there abouts.Walmart warranty 4 yrs for $45 . Definite DO as far as I'm concerned, ( WARRANTY A MUST) however after 2 years I've had no issues.

Check forum for further info. Just a thought.

Yup when you go to max pressure it is awful close to the full bottle pressure so not to many fills to that pressure. But you will still have plenty of partial fills before you get low on your 80cf tank. If you are shooting off the bench you can tether to the tank once it gets to gun pressure for many more shots. If not you just have to live with it. You can probly shoot the gun down to regulated pressure or just below and still not have a problem. But being a semi-auto you don't want to go so low you have cycling problems.

Like Keyman says you can always use your smallish compressor if you shoot that much.

Me I have been shooting off the bench for quite some time now and often tether my impact and LCS to my little 90ci and fill it from my 80CF when the need arises. I get several hundred shots while tethered to the small tank before it needs filled again. I often shoot 600 rounds at 55 and sometimes 74fpe and have never run out of air yet.

Don't discount the utility of a partial fill. Also, once you get below 300 bar, you can just tether up which will let you shoot for a good long time. I'd suggest getting a SCBA tank off of ebay. I got a 30 min tank for $28. It's out of date, but they're designed to leak when they fail, not rapidly disassemble. I have another one that's in-date that I got for $100. SCBA tanks are usually listed in minutes of air, so here's a handy chart to see what you're getting:

30 minute cylinder = 45 cu ft.
45 minute cylinder = 66 cu ft.
60 minute cylinder = 88 cu ft

Ok. Thanks! So basically partial fills will get me a lot more shots. Got it! I do have a $370 (some no name,,, Orcair?) compressor. I have mentioned that above. It is just hard to hook it to the battery. I did not realize the truck's bed outlet would not supply enough juice to run it. But this being a Sierra 2500HD, I need a ladder to just hook it to the battery. More stuff to carry that is.

I really only want the tank for the range, when sighting in and testing pellets. Maybe 200 shots at a time. Or when I will drive around some canals to find some pest to shoot. In which case I would not even need more than 50 shots tops. I have seen 68 ci, 30 cu ft, and 80 cu ft tanks. Can I get by with a 30 cu ft tank? That is not all that large.

TY!
