One way to increase the value of your airguns during a Pandemic

Accoutrements that increase value.

For years I’ve been shooting PCPs in Field target. Since worlds are now coming to the US of A!!! - I am going to switch to 12 foot pound springer category.

So I’m working on the rifle. Many years ago I bought a Macarri field target stock on the yellow forum for $200. It was unfinished grade II American walnut. I finished the stock years ago.

The stock still needs a butt hook and a knee riser. I’ve been working on them since about Christmas. Today I spent all day sanding. Right now they are at 400 grit. The next few stages are called polishing. The wood is Koa, only grows on the Hawaiian islands. Koa is ridiculously expensive even when you’re in Hawaii. I was able to bring some small pieces back on the plane a few years ago in my luggage. It is an extremely hard wood.

The Maccari stock is already worth more than I paid, when I add these pieces it will even be more valuable. Of course the value is to me right now.

Flintsack,

I applaud your patience and effort of shaping and sanding and polishing and .... the gunstock. 👍🏼👍🏼

I couldn't do it...! 😟

(Then again...., I could pour over scope specs data, or pellet test results, and make detailed comparison tables, so I guess, there's a quantity of patience hidden in me there somewhere... 🤔 ).

So, in which gun are you investing your patience? 😊
