Actually, I have used a rim size gauge with good results. And I started weighing the H&N slugs because I didn't have a good way to check diameter. Can't say for sure whether there is a performance difference, but I have seen tighter ES with 23.2 grains. From a previous lot. In a previous lot, 23.0 and 23.2 dominated, and 23.0 grouped tighter. I did not however compare the ES of the two.
Anyway hats off to H&N for such consistency, with 99% of a tin within 0.2 grains, and 100% within 0.4 grains.
