One shot, one kill

This is kind of a takeaway from couple threads, but not. You have your trusty pest gun on permanent standby for key pests, year round. What is it? When you have to have full confidence reaching for it off the rack/ case and drop an ethical kill shot every time, assuming you do your part. Mine is a 25 cal taipan, now taipan 2. Never a concern, what’s yours?

I got 3 that I’d put in that category. Uragan 3 (.22 standard), Wildcat MK III (.22 compact) and Evol (.22 15inch barrel - took a while to get it there). Bunch of others with same or even better accuracy but they are longer/heavier so wouldn’t just grab and shoulder them (or lean with them on whatever)…

.25 Mrod. 25g pellets (it likes JTS Dead Center). 81 squirrels since May. All one-shot at less than 20yds. If I didn't enjoy poking holes in paper so much, I wouldn't be thru my first tin.

And...if it wasn't so bleedin' hot out, I would already have finished repairs to the corners of the house they chewed to shreds.

BSA R10 SE .22 or my FX Continuum w/380mm barrel in .22. Ive killed probably over 75 Starlings/Sparrows out my front door or bathroom window with both and they are always dead on. I use m KNY spinners to verify occasionally at 62 yds. Plus killed a bunch of squirrels hunting with both last year, always head shots except for a couple. Have several others that are just as consistent including a Taipan Vet 2 Standard .22 but use these the most.
