One reason I enjoy shooting slugs - not related to accuracy or distance.

I enjoy shooting slugs because they are more backyard quiet. Take a standard pellet with a fat round face hitting a piece of paper or cardboard - it's quite a smack and most times the only thing heard. Slugs make much less noise with their ogive shape when they pierce a target.

I suppose so - we're talking paper punching here.

One of the main reasons I went to shooting nothing but slugs for a while was that I did not have to sort them, weigh them, roll them, clean them or lube them. Oh, I guess that is more than one but it's all the same it's a mess.

Yup...the 17.5g slugs shoots way more silent than the 18g pellets ..in my standard cricket.
