One of my favorite things to do...

Sit out on the front porch, right around sunset, with my Royale 400, a cold drink, and a tin of pellets.

There's a tiny white dot in front of and a little to left of my Huggett.

Then, I set it to low power (~500fps)

And, I shoot fallen pine cones at ~100 yards. There's a horizontal line of them right behind my crosshairs.

That white dot is one of these sitting on a T-post at about 90 yards. TING!

The Royale is so quiet that the little birds just go about their business and barely give me a thought as I shoot my rifle about 3 feet away.

It's a very peaceful and relaxing way to spend some time before the dark and cold sets in for the night.

Does anyone else have something similar this that they do to relax and shoot at the same time?
Cheers! :)

Yeah, every morning I get up (Lord willing) and fix myself a cup of coffee and open the window of what used to be my son's room ... just me, my coffee and my gun as I watch the sun rise through the trees over my targets at 40,50 and 65 yards ... if that gets too easy, I simply make the targets smaller and smaller and smaller. There's always some critters out there also. Gotta deck in the back that's about 10 feet off the ground overlooking a small stream at the bottom of the hill. Kinda reminds me of that old song from one of those old John Wayne movies where Ricky Nelson and Dean Martin sang " My Rifle, My Pony and Me"... there's so much peace in the world to be had, can't figure out why some people thrive off of confrontation and hatred.

Well said likkitysplyt!
Tominco that is a nice front porch. Jealous. I don't get to shoot as much as you due to where I live but when I do get to my upstate property (4 hrs away) i sit on my back deck and stare at the mountains and listen to the silence if that makes any sense. Always with my airgun in hand like a little kid on a backyard safari. My idea of heaven.

"Dairyboy"I'm jealous! Would be doing that if I had that kind of yard. However I have plenty of feathery and furry targets on the dairy to keep me happy lol
We grew up on a large dairy farm that my grandad had. A lot of work, hunting, fishing and other things to keep a young busy. A real good place to learn the basics of life, to respect others and things around you.

Got to have a get-a-way spot. Most every night when I get home from work and an hour or so before the wife gets home, I walk down the lane, past the creek and to the shooting bench by the pond. I have a 200 yard range there with different targets depending on which gun I bring. It’s pretty nice because I have another creek running along the property line to the east. And a neighbor friend to the west. The high banked rail road tracks to the south help make a good backstop behind the dirt hills I made from digging the pond, and it’s another mile past that to the next road.
