So I’m looking for the sweet spot ( I would ask you to pardon the pun, put I meant it) in cost/quality/lack of fussiness for mount options. Here are the specifics:
So right now I have dual mounts that just clear the bell from interference with the rotary magazine function. The scope I’m currently using is the ubiquitous UTG Bugbuster 3-9x32. It seems that since the Athlon is a bit longer than the UTG, the bell is going to clear the space that the magazine needs. Also, the UTG adjusts the parallax at the front while the new Athlon is a side adjuster. Makes it more easier (says the English major). My question is, am I missing anything? Is there anything that would make my setup a better shooter?
This is the nicest scope my retired/broke/cheap/ WAF-cleared buy has had. I want it to be worth it. From my studies I've learned it’s going to require significant cash to achieve significantly more improvement going forward. So far, with the resources I have at hand? I’m very confident you shouldn’t come around without asking first, unless you’re a too-big lizard. Then you’re very welcome.
Crazy fun hobby, amirite?
