One hell of a loopy shot.

I’ve been after this tree rat for the longest time. Under my car and on the roof. He gets one hint of me and he’s gone.Today, his guard was down. I had a head shot 30 yds. 40 ft. up a tree. Had my HW97k .25 yes .25. Let the lead fly. He fell like you pushed him off a building, back first. Went to get him, couldn’t find, buried.

He was dead before he hit the ground.

The 97 .25 is not my favorite hunting rifle. I find my 77 and 97 .25 cal. both very accurate up to 45 yds. which is currently my range limit with targets. These guns are definitely loopy. If you know their loops they’re deadly. Crow

I'm running a couple of lower powered .25 pcps and they are great short range thumpers. If you know how to lob them big pills they're pretty capable at a distance too. Great shooting!

Your right. A couple years ago I put some targets at 75 yds. I hit it with a .177 I think FWB 124 Sport. The pellet hit the paper no hole and land on top of snow

that’s the pellet. You can see to the right it skipped in the snow.
I shot the target with a .25 cal. I believe my HW80 .25 will it blew through the plywood.

No tune yet. Don’t know how to figure. 550 fps. JSB 25.39. I really like shooting this gun as well my 77 in .25.

I think lower powered .25 springers are what you get after you already have a bunch of "smart caliber" guns to spice things up a bit. I really wish they'd make the .25 available in the blue laminate stock. I'd be on it in a heartbeat. AoA get on that please!

Being well used to 22 cal pcp's. Loopy trajectory isn't my thing. I did own a loopy 25, so I know how tricky it can be. I still own it, but it's no longer loopy, lol. Mine is a pcp pistol w/ 9" barrel. Used to do 500fps with 25.4 gr jsb, then did 700+, and I still wasn't happy. It now does 900+

That said, that was a very good shot! You know your gun well!

My property, I don’t think is large enough for a PCP. My range is off my back porch 45 yds. for now. I find this the perfect distance for sniping tree rats.
The PCP’s blow me away, some of the shots made, and damage they do.
I like all the different calibers in the springers, that’s what makes it challending and gives it variety. I’ve now incorporated a book to keep things organized.

Thats the proper way. I'll be honest, some of the long shots made by the sub 12 guys across the pond impress me more than anything done with pcps, period.

45 degrees warmer today than yesterday. Heat wave. 35 F. During the cold I put Vortek springs in these four.

HW97 .20, HW98 .177, HW50 .177 and a HW98 .22. Four of the finest. I was hesitant on doing any of these, they were very accurate. They are just so much better sounding.
‘My 98 .22 has been a dream. I can’t be happier, just wow.
‘I did notice one of the washers were distorted. Luckily on another gun there were two washers on one side.

I installed 10 spring kits with the one on the bench. I have to say I am totally impressed with the results.

You’re fine with that out to 45 yards. The true definition of loopy is PCP’s shooting slugs 100+ yards. But they don’t look at it that way, they have lasers.
