One bad ass non-traditional Springer! Updated

I made the mistake as many others did by not buying one of these when they were manufactured. I actually had one in my cart at least once and didn’t pull the trigger. And then when they were no longer available, I wanted one really bad…Imagine that.

Mostly it was because everyone had such great things to say about them. A gentleman I shoot field target with advised his father-in-law to get one and they’re both in awe of it.

So I went on year and a half long search to find one. I really really wanted a wood stocked model. That finally happened last week. I don’t have it yet.

If you are patient and you look they can be found still. One that I found was new in the box in a store…In another state. I didn’t pay a high price for either.

I don’t like black rifles. This is the first one I really do like. I think it looks cool. It shoots so good. I put three shots off hand at 68 yards into a quarter just now. It shoots like a dream.

I thought I would share some air gun pic pics of my current favorite Springer, for today anyway.

That is excellent! I have also eyed them on and off since they came out. There was an ASP12 listed as available in .177. That would be VERY promising.

What is the trigger like?

That may be the only ASP20 topped by a March scope on the planet. lol.

I was thinking the same thing. When I saw that I said “man this guy REALLY likes this gun”

I had my March scope on my asp prior to moving it to my R9, lol.

Hey, fantastic shooting from a great gun!!!!

I’ve had the chance to both shoot the Sigg, and hunt with it. It is wonderful at both.

As noted above, it is heavy. However, all big powerful Spring Piston air guns are heavy. They need to be.

Whenever I take a walk with any rifle, I carry it with my left hand only, in an offhand style position. Years ago a competitive shooter told me it was extremely important to develop that muscle. I don’t do this when I’m hunting all day.

From a hunting standpoint I went three in a row, a hat trick without a miss on small Varmints at Distance. Two of the shots were 30 yards off hand at chipmunks. I was impressed.

on the walk home I decided to see what I could do shooting this silhouette. As I was aiming at it right for a heart shot, I decided to go for the head. After all that’s what it was designed for. But I also knew I would have to reset it if I hit it. And that involves walking to the target because the target is broken after being beat up for so many years. It doesn’t reset anymore.

first shot perfect headshot. I did this five times in a row. Each time walking up and resetting the target by hand. Then walking back to the 31 yard line. This thing really shoots. It is very very much like shooting a PCP. Especially offhand. Springers are very forgiving offhand. Meaning they don’t jump in different directions. If you have a nice consistent Steady hold, it’s going to recoil the same every time.

I hate black rifles with weaver mounts. They’re ugly. This one is beautiful. Especially when it’s on my shoulder.

If you are a dedicated springer shooter. I would highly recommend finding one of these rifles. I have found three over the last year, and I’m done.

The only high-powered Springer that I own that shoots this well is a Theoben, and a John Wiscombe. That is saying a lot.

pics won’t load…will add soon…

🎯 They were all bull’s-eyes. Literally.

Mike, I am so glad you enjoy yours. I've spoken so highly of mine I've convinced a few members here to get one, lol.

Mine is a laser, and hits like a heavy-weight. Mine is a pleasure to pest/hunt with, and is equally adept at target shooting and paper punching. My biggest complaint, outside of the black stock, is the trigger. It's a VERY GOOD trigger, but not superb. It'd be nice if it could break alot lower (mine breaks just over 2lbs, but "feels" lower than that), but it hasn't really affected my accuracy.
