Older Air Arms S410

Hello to my new forum buddies.

I am an airgunner that got started in 2000. In 2003 I bought a 22 cal Air Arms S410 and a hand pump from Straightshooters. I got lots of great shooting out that gun shooting both targets and ground squirrels. It is a very accurate, beautiful weapon. After a few years of reliable use, one day it quit taking a charge. I never tried fixing it as I had many other toys to play with. However, my neighbor just bought a new(Sig) pcp and compressor which re-awoke my enthusiasm. My hand pump is gone as my wife thought it was an old bicycle pump and gave it away. So, the upshot is I have questions. First, how do I determine what the problem is with the gun? Second, do any of you think it would take a charge if I used a compressor or a scuba tank instead of the hand pump? If it turns out that it needs repairs, who do you recommend I send to? Do you think they still have parts for this gun? Which portable compressors do you guys like/trust the best? Thanks in advance for any replies and/or advice. Also, I'm seriously shopping for a new toy. At the top of my list are the FX Maveric and the Daystate Huntsman- both in 25cal. Happy airgunning.

I’ve had multiple AA S410’s in various configurations. Olde school great unregulated guns. Worthy of getting yours fixed and shooting again. Uhfradawill gave great advice. Hook it up to your friends compressor and see if you can fill it. If it’s completely out of air cock it and then fill. If it leaks there are complete o ring kits for sale on eBay. Lots of YouTube videos on how to reseal an S410. If you don’t have the time or inclination send it to nervoustrig on this forum. He’s a VERY qualified and VERY fair individual that I HIGHLY recommend. Can’t say enough good things about Jason.

I have one if these - one of the best rifles I ever owned and with nearly twenty in my vault, it will be the last one to go.

First, be sure to cock it and then try to fill up the reservoir. If that doesn’t work, consider sending it to Scott Schneider at Motorhead. I had him install a HUMA regulator in mine and totally reseal it a few years ago and it has been fabulous ever since. Unbelievably accurate and dependable.
