Old school FWB 124 surprise

Zero expectations. Then this happened.

Beautiful and stunning Walnut beaver tail stock with the original multi-coat epoxy gloss finish, mint action (mesmerizing bore), original manual, original invoice from Robert Law's Air Rifle Headquarters, test targets shot by Mr. Law while owner was present in the establishment, spare parts: sling swivels and trigger shoe look new (haven't removed them from packing yet), washers, front sight post inserts, breech seal. Not in photos is a 124 beech stock which came with the ensemble.

What's not to be happy about?

That's a beautiful AG, but what is really nice is that you seem a compulsive sort that will take good care of it. Many new owners would not bother to rest it on a cushion to make the photographs, which are also very high quality!

Wow. That's good stuff right there - a collector's dream! And those old school ARH stocks are nice, but that is a particularly stunning piece of lumber.

Any attempt made to shoot it, or is the assumption (based on condition) that it's been sitting for 40 years and needs new seals?

That's gorgeous Jon, but shame on you for discounting FWB 124 abilities! I once put ten shots into a 1/4" c-t-c group at 30 yards... after a couple stiff margaritas, mind you. 

After selling you my next to last piston rifle, I own only one; a Corcorran stocked FWB 124-

Thanks guys, it's nice when the springgunning universe conspires in our favor.

This rifle has been very well taken care of and was shot sparingly by the original owner. 

Will need to decide what to do with it: send it to Paul Watts for further refinement, or preserve and conserve AS IS for future generations?

I’d send it off... I can understand the hesitation and desire to be completely stock seeing as though the nice history. I just think that the sporting aspect of it deserves a little refreshing to keep it top notch.

Yet another oldie but goodie: this time a Beeman 124D, San Anselmo address. Here's a short vid shooting a resettable target with H&N Excite Plinking (7.48 gn) wadcutters. 825 fps with these pellets for 11.3 fpe. Not bad at all :
