Old Beeman 300s

Posted on another forum so apologize for those that have seen it already. For those who havent, here 's an older rifle not often seen. I've seen photos before but now a proud owner. Pics posted with permission of previous owner.. There much nice then ones I took.

Gorgeous piece of wood. My advice is to upgrade to a higher magnification scope when you can. These guns can hit a target so small at 25 yds that the reticle in some 7X and 9X scopes block out the target.

True that this has potential beyond most low-power scopes, but my advice is to leave what appears to be a period-correct blue ribbon scope on there and then sell the rifle to me immediately!

Is that butt pad rubber or apiece of wood - it's hard to tell from the pics, but it's the first time I see one that looks like that on a 300s.

The butt pad is made out of wood. As I understand, it allowed the shooter to quickly raise and position the rifle as soon as the moving target is seen. Originally the target was an image of a running boar then transitioned to a moving target. At one point, it was an Olympic event however is still popular in European countries.
