OKAY.......Another which one question

Hello everyone!

So I've really been looking at the Uragan in .25 but I love short guns so the compact is on my radar too although I like to occasionally shoot 100 yards(or further if possible) and I also like walkin and stalkin mostly rabbits and ground squirrels. So I'm sure the standard Uragan would be better for the long shots. Buuuut.....I also really like the RTI Prophet Performance and it comes in the compact now too! I watched the AOA video of the performance(can't remember if it was the .22 long range) and that gun looked and performed awesome and the barrel changes looked so easy. It would be cool to have a .22 and .25 in the same platform. I'm coming from a .25 TalonP and a .25 Kral Empire X. I got the TalonP first and it's been great but not at distance and I liked the price of the Kral and the fact that it has a bigger bottle than the P and magazine fed instead of single shot. I'm mainly shooting the Kral now but started shooting again with the P too. I switched scopes so still trying to get the P dialed back in but sucks having a pellet shortage so haven't got to experiment too much with different calibers with the P. The Kral is a good gun for 75 yards and under IMO. I haven't gone that far with the P. I guess my question is..what is your opinion of the 4 guns at 100 yards. Prophet performance and compact and Uragan standard and compact. I know the standard(long) versions will be better at distance but really that much better than the compact? I'm in no hurry to buy(not much in stock anyway) so no rush but torn between RTI and AGT.....oh wait, now we have the Kalibr bottle gun ugh!!!By the way I can tinker but would rather grab it and go shoot. Thanks for reading!

get a fancy long one for your sniper dreams .. when your ready to get serious about a yard or field gun to go lay waste to critters a marauder will be fine and .25 would be the most versatile, and pellet shortage really isnt an issue with a gun like that .. all you need is a couple of tins a year and thats if 'business' is good lol ... its usually 1 shot one kill with my marauder .25 think about it .. theres 250 pellets in a tin .. thats alot of buryin stuff lol ...

Normal Uragan or Vulcan 2 would be my choice. Both are really good rifles.

MAN do i like my VULCAN GEN 1 so nice to shoulder,,,im in the same spot as you

FX M3 22 BOUGHT AND SENT BACK FOR ISSUE

AGT URAGAN COMPACT

KALIBREGUN 22 TACT COMPACT

RTI PROPHET COMPACT 22 cal

same boat as you think the FX 1st AGT 2nd RTI 3RD KALIBREGUN 4TH good luck that RTI is going to be a hot selection PAT

I personally think compacts are a terrible option as a first airgun. They are great as a second gun thought. With your first you will eventually want more speed, shoot heavier ammo, shoot further, so buy for that eventuality. Then buy the compact later once you are ok with the limitations that come with the compact. I have lived it and it is expensive to learn this lesson the hard way.

RTI Performance Compact.22 would be a great choice. Why?

0) I don't know about the Uragan ;)
1) external hammer spring and regulator adjustment
2) quick caliber changes if you wanted to go that route
4) lightweight
5) high shot ****
6) ridiculously accurate ( likely the other candidates are as well)

It's gotta be something you LOVE TO SHOOT and you've stated a preference for short guns.

Thanks everyone! That RTI seems like the one...…….but a great deal just came up in the classifieds for the Uragan with scope and Donny for 1500 buks! Not sure if it's still available. I PM'd seller but no response. Then I keep going to look at the maverick compact dang it...…..too many options!!!!

yeah that uragan looks like a sweet deal.

Hi Goldfinger.....If you’re set on those 4, than this won’t help:). How about a Taipan Veteran long in .25? Still short-ish with long range smack and accuracy. I wish my wife would let this advice be from the horse’s mouth:(. I’ve mostly read fantastic things about this gun. I think the standard (shorter version) does pretty well in various forum members hands even out to 100 yards. Maybe they can chime in for real world experience:)!

Guys,

Just saw Krale shop has the maverick in stock.....$1520.00 and the Uragan compact for like $1700 still torn....UGH!

We'll Krale can't sell you one due to FX Policy being you can only buy from the Country your from if there's an FX dealer there.

Anyways what kind of power levels are you looking for? Truth be told I shoot a Taipan Veteran Short in .22 almost daily now and have zero issues shooting out to 100yds in good weather of course. I also only shoot a 16gr pellet at 880fps with that gun. Can shoot 920 with a 18gr if wanted but just isn't needed for my needs. That will help with your choice. The Uragan Compact only come in .177 and .22 and unless tuned are around 24-25fpe guns (in .22). Not sure what your caliber want is either. You mention .25 Uragan but wasn't made clear if you wanted either .22 or .25 or fine with either.

Dairyboy<

That sucks, had it in my cart this morning and no wonder it doesn't have USA in the ship to drop down box. That's sooo lame. I see why they do it though. I think I'm gonna go with the maverick compact. I can always get the bigger barrel later if i wanted to. Watched Steve's video last night and looks pretty straight forward as far as tuning. But now I'm like..just get the Uragan cause Kral has it and they can sell it to me now! Conundrum!!!

Hah, asked a similar question just a couple of days ago about 2 similar priced guns and got an astounding which direction to go advice.......I took it and ordered.

By the way, if you're Talon p is .25, they really like these.
